There is usually a line but so worth it - the portions are massive and the environment lively! The shrimp platter is awesome and while paired with a sweet ice tea spiked with whiskey it's even better! Cannot wait to be back!

An experience. Total Dive bar. It wasn't what I expected. They card you before you can get seated. Thus there are no kids in the place. The waiter was on one. He was upfront and said he didn't feel well and had a splitting headache. He was rough around the edges and to the point. Going over the specials and the menu. Saying what was good on the menu and what wasn't worth your time. Service was quick and he came to check on us multiple times. Definitely a dive bar feel. Cell phones are not allowed at the table. The tables were large tables that you share with multiple parties. All the seats were taken while we were there. I'm glad we got there early to claim seats. I ordered the redfish Menuerie, see picture for description and correct spelling. It was delicious. Not fishy at all. I love the sauce and paired with rice allowed me to get all the sauce. I'd order it again. My husband got the special. The bathroom was clean minus the graffiti. They take cards.

Pretty standard for a pub, I would say it has a cozy setting though. My bf and I went for a late lunch and it was almost dinner time so we didn't want to eat much Rabbit and sausage jambalaya: 9/10 granted as my first time having jambalaya, it was flavorful. But throughout my trip, I noticed that this place makes theirs with much more tomato flavor House salad: 9/10 as good as a salad can get lol their green goddess dressing was good though!

It's dive bar atmosphere give this comforting no expectations type of vibe. But when you're met with the taste of the food, you'll understand why people mention Coops. Their fried chicken is great. A lot of people recommend their fried chicken. But even when we got the taste plate, everything had spice and flavor to it. A minor thing was that the shrimp tasted like bland frozen shrimp that was boiled in water. Other than that I like that you get the option to have small portions to taste a little bit of the dishes that are popular in New Orleans. We ordered the Coop's Taste Plate $19.95 A cup of Seafood Gumbo to start. Plate includes Cajun Fried Chicken, Shrimp creole, Red beans & Rice, Rabbit & Sausage jambalaya. We also ordered a couple of mint juleps. Our server was so nice that she asked us if she needed to adjust it if it wasn't sweet enough for us. Service was nice. We went when it was raining so inside the bar there was maybe a couple other tables of people there that we were lucky it wasn't too busy. As soon as you sit down they let you know they don't split checks or payments. Overall a positive experience at Coops. I wish I had more fried chicken

I had researched long and hard about where to get some of the best Jambalaya from a restaurant in New Orleans and ended up finding about Coop's. Such a great spot and the jambalaya did not disappoint - so much flavor with the sausage, rabbit, crawfish and shrimp with a good amount of heat. Also Molly's at the Market next door with their frozen Irish coffee was fantastic. I definitely want to come back!!
